PREMISE

Dear User, we are making this descriptive document in relation to the health care service described below.

We invite you to read it and express your informed consent to the performance of this service.

The processing of data related to the execution of these activities will take place in accordance with the current legislation on data protection (AArticles 13 and 14 of the European Regulation on the protection of personal data 2016/679).

WHAT ARE THE RAPID TEST Sars-COV-2 | Antigenic test

The antigenic test on swab is a proper diagnostic test to detect the presence of the virus in a precise moment; it has also assumed a fundamental importance to intercept and control all the potentially infected subjects such as those in close contact with the confirmed cases or who present symptoms attributable to the infection caused by SARS-CoV-2.

This is a key measure to contain the spread of the virus.

How to execute the Antigenic test

The nasopharyngeal swab is usually performed because of its greater diagnostic sensitivity and specificity. This is a procedure that consists in taking the superficial cells of the mucosa of the posterior nasopharynx by means of a small stick of flexible synthetic material capable of holding organic material.

In case of difficulty in performing the nasal-rhinopharyngeal swab, it is recommended to perform the oro-pharyngeal and nasal (anterior and middle turbinate) swab.

The nasal swab of the middle turbinate involves inserting the swab into the side of the nose.

The removal of each swab is performed in a few seconds and has a minimal invasiveness, originating, at most, an imperceptible discomfort at the point of contact.

Positive result of  the Antigenic test

The presence of the virus in the respiratory mucous membranes is an indication of replicative activity, so the individual is infectious and contagious. Therefore, after informing your general practitioner, you must remain in mandatory quarantine, in compliance with the requirements of current regulations.

Positive individuals will be able to leave the quarantine only after having been subjected to the execution of two consecutive swabs, 24 hours apart, both of which were negative (clinical and virological recovery)

Negative Antigenic test result

A negative test result on the date of execution means that the individual is not infectious and contagious, but does not ensure that the patient cannot become infected the next day. In such a case, serologic testing for antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 may be used to guide the diagnosis.

The Laboratory will communicate the result of the swab to the General Practitioner and/or to the Regional Covid platform.

After reading the above, we ask you to sign this informed consent to perform the nasopharyngeal swab.
